#29 Nothing Special
Saturday 8/15/26
Our inshore water was so warm, a drop in temp was bound to happen. Looks like the water rolled and we all know that isn’t a good thing. Despite this, we thought we would take the boat out because it’s fun for the whole family. We made some bait in our local spot and decided to fish off Point Loma and look for something good… maybe a halibut or a white seabass. If we were lucky maybe we would see signs of yellowtail. By the time we made some bait the conditions weren’t too great. Wind was forecast to pick up in the afternoon, and it sure did! We stuck it out for a bit, looking for halibut. I felt a hard bite off the bottom, fought it for a quick 10 seconds, felt a head shake right under the boat and it was gone. I guess it was the one that got away, because the rest of the time we caught and released calicos until the wind sent us home. Til’ next time…
